How a crisp communication plan makes the difference

A communication plan ensures that the right message is communicated to the right target group with the right timing.

Having a clear plan to whom you are to communicate what and when is crucial for the success of any corporate action – implementing a new strategy, acquisitions, divestments or in a crisis, to give just a few examples. A communication plan also constitutes the back bone of regulatory communication with, for example, the stock market.

Every major event in the company requires a clear communication plan. It will ensure that different stakeholders receive the information they seek and should have, with the right timing. How we do it

  • Target group analysis. WHO, WHAT, WHY. Which stakeholders do we want to/ need to reach out to with messages?

    • What do they want to know?

    • What do we want them to know and why?

    • What do we want them to do?

  • Questions & Answers (Q&A). WHAT. Per target group, we analyse what questions your target group has, and which we want them to get answers to.
  • Communication plan. WHEN, WHERE, HOW. When do we need to communicate what to whom, in what channel and in what format? Who is the spokesperson / messenger?

  • Key messages. WHAT, WHY. With support from the target group analysis and our Q&A, we put together our main messages, our storytelling.

  • Communication package. We package our key messages according to target group and in the format in which we want to communicate. This can be PowerPoints, email templates, press releases, LinkedIn posts, speeches - all depending on which channel the messages are to be shared in.

  • Project coordination of the process above. If you wish, we also keep hold of the baton even through the critical stage  - when the communication plan is activated.

  • A communication plan in .xls format, clearly structured according to target group, main message, spokesperson and when in time to communicate what through which channels

  • A comprehensive Question-Answer (Q&A) document that is shared with all spokespersons

  • Goals and channel-adapted communication packages
